Objectives
The coordination and management of the Open Microprocessor Initiative Programme.
It covers the enabling of effective technology transfer, the marketing and
promotion of OMI and support for the process of evaluating and refining
the OMI strategy. The objectives are central to the success of OMI as a
whole and to the achievement of the OMI mission.
Objectives
of ECSI
To undertake the awareness and dissemination actions in the domain of
standards for OMI projects.
To address IPR problems for libraries of cells and ASIC in conjunction
with other groups worldwide.
To bring to OMI the ECSI network of centres.
To protect the interests of system companies and silicon manufacturers
who are ECSI members. Partners

Duration : 18 Months . Starting
date : September 1st, 1996. Four main tasks are
planned:
Programme and Project Management and Information Exchange: This includes
programme coordination with all projects and support measures, the maintenance
of the OMI WWW server and a feedback task.
Exploitation and Promotion: This is the OMI promotional activity
aimed at promoting the results emerging, the programme, and and its projects.
Technology Transfer and Standards: This action continues the OMI
standardisation activities through the OMI Standards Board, provides support
to the OMI Nodes and examines IPR and licensing frameworks for the programme.
Programme Development: This is to ensure the success of OMI by enhancing
its strategy, supporting it by market research and discussing it openly.
